Hunting License Exemptions

Do I need a hunter safety card if I am exempt from needing a license?

Yes. Florida law requires anyone born on or after June 1, 1975 to complete a hunter safety course before hunting wild animals with a firearm. You must present proof when purchasing a license. If you’re exempt from needing a license, you must still carry your hunter safety card while hunting.

  • Active military personnel who are Florida residents on leave for 30 days or less (must carry valid military orders).
