How do I order a personalized plate?
You can order or renew personalized plates at any Tax Collector office (allow at least 60 days for processing). Your vehicle must have a current registration at the time of application.
What Does It Cost?
Initial order:
- $15 annual personalized plate fee
- Tag replacement fee
- Specialty tag fee (if applicable)
Annual renewal:
- $15 annual personalized plate fee
- Specialty tag fee (if applicable)
- Regular registration fee
What are the rules for characters?
Standard graphic plates:
- Include letters, numbers, spaces, or hyphens
- 7 characters: May include 1 additional space or hyphen
- 5 characters: NO additional space or hyphen allowed
Left graphic specialty plates:
- Up to 5 characters
Motorcycle plates:
- Up to 6 characters
Important: Characters are NOT automatically centered. Use spaces to position your text as desired.
